Welcome to a virtual start to the 2020-2021 school year!

Mrs. Penrose

Hello Fifth Graders!

Welcome to a unique school experience at our amazing Ladue Fifth Grade Center!

I have been the librarian here since we opened. Prior to coming to the FGC, I was the librarian at Old Bonhomme. You can see how much I love Ladue!

We will meet online through Zoom. I will be happy to help you in any way I can! If you have any suggestions for great titles to include in our library, please let me know. Many of our fiction books are here because of student requests. Not sure what is the right book for you? Just ask and I can help match you with the just-right read!

All library information will be posted in your Google Library Classroom. If you do not receive a code the first week of school, please email me and I will get it to you.

At Home...Library Notes

Hey Students!

At-Home Learning: Go to our library class in Google Classroom. I will post assignments there that I hope you find interesting and continues what we have been doing. Look each week to see if something new has been added.

Week 1 and 2:  "What's So Punny? and "If you could be anywhere or be doing anything..." (Read "Creative Commons: Copyright or Copywrong" for directions first.)

You can now leave comments in our Google classroom. Make sure your comments are respectful and are appropriate for our fifth-grade class!

Below is a list of next year's (2020-2021) Mark Twain nominees as well as the Truman nominees.

Try using your digital access to the county library to find some of the titles - I looked and some are available. The directions are below and there is a tab at the top of this blog with illustrated directions on how to access the county library. It can also be found in our Google Classroom.

I hope to see you all soon!
